5.6 It is your responsibility to ensure your payment details remain current. You can update your payment method via your account at any time.
5.7 All purchases are subject to verification. We reserve the right to decline or cancel a subscription order at our discretion, in which case any payment taken will be refunded in full.
6. Cancellation & Refunds
6.1 Cooling-Off Period. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (where applicable), you have a statutory right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason.
6.2 If you exercise this right within 14 days and have not attended any sessions or used any paid features, you will receive a full refund within 14 calendar days.
6.3 If you exercise this right within 14 days but have already attended a session or used paid features, we reserve the right to deduct a pro-rata amount reflecting the portion of the service already delivered before issuing any refund.
6.4 To exercise your right to cancel during the Cooling-Off Period, contact us at info@lewinparo.com with the subject line "Cancellation Request — [your name and account email]". We will confirm receipt within 24 hours.
6.5 Ongoing cancellation. After the 14-day Cooling-Off Period, you may cancel at any time through your account or by emailing info@lewinparo.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current monthly billing period. You will retain access until that date and will not be charged again thereafter.
6.6 Exceptional refunds. We will consider refund requests outside the Cooling-Off Period in the following circumstances:
(a) You have experienced a serious illness, bereavement, or life event making continued use of the Service impossible;
(b) We have materially failed to deliver the service as described;
(c) A technical fault caused by us prevented your use of the Service.
Requests should be sent to info@lewinparo.com with supporting information. We will respond within 10 working days.
6.7 In compliance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, we will ensure that cancellation is straightforward, available online, and confirmed in writing within 24 hours of your request.
6.8 Lewin Paro will not apply any penalties, exit fees, or disproportionate conditions to cancel your subscription.
7. Price Changes
7.1 We reserve the right to change subscription prices. If we intend to increase the price of your existing plan, we will give you at least 30 days' advance written notice by email.
7.2 If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the new price takes effect without penalty. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
7.3 Price changes will not apply retrospectively to any current billing month already paid.
Part 3 — Sessions & Services
8. Session Terms
8.1 Booking. Sessions must be booked in advance through the Lewin Paro website, using our Squarespace booking system. We aim to make sessions available promptly for all paid plans; Performance Package members benefit from priority booking, typically within 48 hours. Availability may vary.
8.2 Essential Package sessions. The Essential Package includes two 20-minute practitioner-led 1:1 sessions per calendar month, together with post-meeting messaging check-ins. These sessions are bespoke to Lewin Paro and are not equivalent to clinical psychotherapy.
8.3 Performance Package sessions. The Performance Package includes four 20-minute practitioner-led 1:1 sessions per calendar month, together with priority messaging support between meetings, priority booking, and a monthly performance check-in with a simple progress summary, as described on the plan page.
8.4 Session allocation. Session allocations are calculated on a per-calendar-month basis. Unused sessions do not roll over to the following month unless otherwise stated in your plan description.
8.5 Late cancellation & no-shows. Sessions must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in the session being forfeited.
8.6 Practitioner availability. Sessions are delivered by appropriately qualified practitioners. If your usual practitioner is unavailable, we will offer an alternative of equivalent qualification or the option to reschedule.
8.7 Nature of sessions. Sessions are conducted by video call via Zoom. A meeting link will be provided via email when your session is confirmed. You are responsible for ensuring you have a suitable, private, and confidential environment and an adequate internet connection in which to take part.
8.8 Session transcription (Performance Package only). Sessions attended as part of the Performance Package may be transcribed for the sole purpose of preparing your monthly performance check-in and progress summary. By subscribing to the Performance Package and attending sessions, you consent to this transcription. Transcripts:
(a) are treated as strictly confidential and handled in accordance with Section 12 (Confidentiality) and our Privacy Policy;
(b) are stored securely within our Google Workspace environment and are accessible only to your practitioner and authorised Lewin Paro personnel;
(c) are used solely to prepare your performance summary and are not used for marketing, training, or any other purpose;
(d) may be permanently deleted on request at any time by emailing info@lewinparo.com.
Essential Package sessions are not recorded or transcribed. No video or audio recordings of sessions are retained under either plan.
8.9 Personal recordings. If you wish to make your own personal recording of a session, you must inform your practitioner at the start of the session and obtain their express consent before doing so.
8.10 Professional standards. All practitioners delivering sessions through Lewin Paro are required to hold appropriate qualifications and, where applicable, professional registration with a recognised body.
Part 4 — Your Responsibilities
9. Your Account
9.1 You must create an account on our website to access the Service. Accounts are managed through Squarespace's member account system. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
9.2 You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering, and update your account information promptly if any details change.
9.3 You must not share your account credentials with any other person. Your subscription is for your personal use only.
9.4 If you suspect your account has been accessed without your authorisation, notify us immediately at info@lewinparo.com.
9.5 We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being misused, shared, or used in breach of these Terms.
10. Acceptable Use
10.1 By using the Service, you agree that you will not:
(a) Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws;
(b) Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person;

11. Confidentiality
11.1 Lewin Paro treats all personal information, session content, and session transcripts as strictly confidential. We will not disclose information about your use of the Service, session content, or personal circumstances to any third party — including your employer — without your explicit written consent.
11.2 Confidentiality may only be broken in the following exceptional circumstances, and only to the minimum extent necessary:
(a) Where we are required to do so by a court order, legal obligation, or other binding regulatory requirement;
(b) Where there is a credible and immediate risk of serious harm to you or to another identifiable person, and disclosure is necessary to prevent that harm;
(c) Where you have given prior written consent to share specific information with a named third party.
11.3 In any circumstance where confidentiality must be broken, we will, wherever possible, inform you in advance and explain the reason, unless doing so would itself create a risk of harm or is prohibited by law.
11.4 Our full data handling practices are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Part 6 — Intellectual Property
12. Intellectual Property
12.1 All content, design, software, tools, branding, trademarks, and materials on the Lewin Paro platform — including text, graphics, logos, and session frameworks — are owned by or licensed to Lewin Paro Ltd and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
12.2 Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. Your subscription grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal purposes during your active subscription period.
12.3 The name "Lewin Paro", the Lewin Paro logo, and associated branding are the property of Lewin Paro Ltd and may not be used without prior written consent.
12.4 Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide to us may be used by Lewin Paro without obligation to you, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Part 7 — Health, Safety & Safeguarding
13. Crisis & Safeguarding

13.4 If a practitioner identifies a risk to your safety or the safety of another person, they are professionally and legally obligated to act in accordance with applicable safeguarding duties. This obligation overrides confidentiality in line with Section 11.2.
13.5 We reserve the right to decline or end a subscription and refer you to a more appropriate service if we have reason to believe the Service is not suitable for your circumstances.
Part 8 — Liability & Warranties
14. Warranties & Service Standards
14.1 We warrant that the Service will be provided with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
14.2 We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure the platform is available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary unavailability.
14.3 If the Service is unavailable for a prolonged or material period due to issues within our control, we will, at our discretion, extend your subscription by an equivalent period or offer a partial credit.
14.4 The tools and resources available through the Service are for wellbeing and performance support purposes only and do not constitute medical, clinical, psychiatric, or legal advice.
15. Limitation of Liability
15.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
(a) Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
(b) Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
(c) Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
15.2 Subject to Section 15.1, Lewin Paro's total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
15.3 We are not liable for: loss of income, profit, business, or data; indirect or consequential losses; any outcome of sessions or use of resources; or technical failures of third-party platforms (including Squarespace, Google, Zoom, or Stripe) beyond our reasonable control.
15.4 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
Part 9 — Platform & Technology
16. Third-Party Platforms & Processors
16.1 Lewin Paro operates through the following third-party platforms and service providers. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) in accordance with UK GDPR Article 28.
Processor Role Data Processed Location Transfer Basis Squarespace Website hosting, member accounts, session booking, assessment forms, checkout Name, email, account details, booking data, assessment responses (special category health data), consent records USA UK Addendum to EU SCCs (Art. 46) Stripe Payment processing Payment details, billing address, transaction records USA / Ireland UK Addendum to EU SCCs (Art. 46) Google Workspace (incl. 16.2 We are not responsible for the availability or independent data handling decisions of third-party platforms, beyond ensuring our contractual obligations under UK GDPR are fulfilled.
16.3 The Service may contain links to external websites. These are provided for convenience only and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party website.
17. Availability & Technical Issues
17.1 We will use reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and performance of the platform. Scheduled maintenance will, where possible, be communicated in advance via email or on-site notice.
17.2 If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing a booked session or subscription content, contact us at info@lewinparo.com as soon as possible. We will endeavour to reschedule affected sessions without penalty.
Part 9A — Data Protection & International Transfers
18. How Your Data Flows Through Our Systems
18.1 When you complete the Lewin Paro burnout assessment or subscribe to the Service, your personal data passes through a defined sequence of processors. We operate this data flow transparently and in full compliance with UK GDPR:
You (complete assessment) → Squarespace (form submission, account & subscription) → Google Workspace / Gmail (results delivered to you) → Zoom (sessions)
18.2 Squarespace hosts the Lewin Paro website, manages your member account and bookings, and captures your burnout assessment submission. Squarespace holds your name, email address, account details, booking history, assessment responses, and a timestamped record of your consent. Squarespace acts solely as a data processor on our instructions and is bound by Squarespace's Data Processing Addendum.
18.3 Google Workspace (including Gmail) is used to deliver your assessment results to the email address you provided, to store service documents and session transcripts (Performance Package only), and to host video sessions via Zoom. Data passing through Google's infrastructure is covered by Google's Cloud Data Processing Addendum incorporating the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
18.4 Stripe processes subscription payments. Stripe holds your payment details, billing address, and transaction records. Lewin Paro does not store your full card details.
18A. Special Category (Health) Data
⚕ UK GDPR Article 9 — Sensitive Health Data
Your burnout assessment responses, and any session transcripts created under the Performance Package, are classified as special category data under UK GDPR Article 9 because they relate to your mental and emotional health. This data is afforded the highest level of legal protection and is processed only with your explicit consent.
18A.1 Your assessment responses are processed solely on the basis of your explicit consent, given via the dedicated Article 9 consent checkbox on the assessment form. A timestamped record of this consent is retained by Lewin Paro for 6 years as required for compliance purposes.
18A.2 Performance Package session transcripts are processed solely on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you subscribe to the Performance Package, and solely for the purpose of preparing your monthly performance check-in and progress summary.
18A.3 Your health data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored with encryption at rest within our processors' systems. It is not transmitted in plain text at any point.
18A.4 Your assessment result level (e.g. "Low Risk") is included in the results email delivered via Gmail. This constitutes a transfer of health-related data through Google's infrastructure, covered by Google's UK-compliant contractual safeguards.
18A.5 You may withdraw your Article 9 consent and request permanent deletion of your assessment data and/or session transcripts at any time by emailing info@lewinparo.com. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
18B. International Data Transfers
18B.1 Squarespace, Google, and Stripe are headquartered in the United States of America, which does not benefit from a general UK adequacy decision under UK GDPR. All transfers are made under appropriate safeguards pursuant to UK GDPR Article 46, including the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) framework, or under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the processor is certified.
18B.2 Before transferring data internationally, Lewin Paro has conducted a Transfer Risk Assessment (TRA) for each processor in accordance with ICO guidance. We are satisfied that the safeguards in place provide an essentially equivalent level of protection to that afforded under UK law.
18B.3 You have the right to request details of the safeguards in place for any international transfer of your personal data by contacting info@lewinparo.com.
18C. Your UK GDPR Data Rights
18C.1 Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to all personal data held about you across our processor systems (Squarespace, Google Workspace, Stripe):
Right of access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data from all systems
Right to withdraw consent — including Article 9 health data consent, at any time
Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause processing of your data
Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, portable format
Right to object — object to processing based on our legitimate interests
18C.2 To exercise any of these rights, email info@lewinparo.com. We will respond within 30 days. For complex requests we may extend this by a further 60 days and will inform you accordingly.
18C.3 If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk · 0303 123 1113.
Part 10 — General Legal Provisions

(a) You breach these Terms in a material way;
(b) You engage in abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour toward practitioners or staff;
(c) Payment repeatedly fails and is not resolved after reasonable notification;
(d) We reasonably believe continued use poses a risk of harm to you, our practitioners, or others.
19.2 On termination for breach, no refund will be issued for the remainder of any prepaid period.
19.3 On termination for reasons other than breach (e.g. the service is discontinued), we will provide reasonable notice and issue a pro-rata refund for any unused prepaid period.
20. Complaints
20.1 We take complaints seriously and are committed to resolving them promptly and fairly.
20.2 To make a complaint, email info@lewinparo.com with the subject line "Complaint — [your name]". We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 working days.
20.3 If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you may seek redress through the courts or through an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme.
20.4 If your complaint relates to data protection, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk · 0303 123 1113.
21. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
21.1 These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
21.2 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are domiciled.
22. Severability
22.1 If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed from the remaining Terms, which shall continue in full force and effect.
23. Waiver
23.1 A failure or delay by Lewin Paro in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or remedy.
24. Entire Agreement
24.1 These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lewin Paro Ltd in relation to your use of the Service, and supersede all prior communications, representations, or agreements.
